Stone Creek Residence
A refined residential landscape concept balancing architectural structure, native softness, and warm evening atmosphere.

Project Overview
Situated in a well-established San Antonio neighborhood, this project began with a comprehensive site analysis to understand the existing conditions, mature tree canopy, and architectural character of both the home and its surroundings.
The design strategy focused on enhancing the arrival experience while preserving the established shade trees that define the property's character. Through careful spatial planning, we developed a layered planting composition that transitions from structured foundation beds to soft ornamental grasses at the street edge.
Every element was considered in relation to the warm brick architecture, from the placement of pathway lighting to the selection of plant materials that would complement the home's traditional aesthetic while introducing a refined, contemporary sensibility.
Front Transformation
The front yard design creates a welcoming arrival sequence that balances structured formality with soft, natural planting. Mature shade trees frame the composition while ornamental grasses add movement and seasonal interest.

Material + Planting Character
The planting palette harmonizes with the warm brick architecture, layering evergreen structure with seasonal color and textural variety. Each material was selected to complement the home's traditional aesthetic.

Evening Lighting
Landscape lighting transforms the front yard into a warm, inviting presence after dark. Uplighting on foundation plantings and trees creates depth and drama while ensuring safe passage along the entry walk.

Entry Illumination
Warm path lighting guides visitors to the front door while accent fixtures highlight the architectural entry and address marker.
Tree Uplighting
Strategic uplighting on the mature shade tree creates a dramatic focal point and extends the visual presence of the landscape into evening hours.
Foundation Glow
Low-voltage fixtures illuminate foundation plantings, adding depth to the composition and highlighting the textural variety of the planting beds.
Design Development
From initial site modeling to refined visualization, the design process established clear spatial relationships between architecture, existing trees, and proposed landscape elements.

Spatial Planning
The site model established clear zones for arrival, foundation planting, and ornamental borders, ensuring each area serves a distinct functional and visual purpose.
Tree Integration
Existing mature trees were carefully incorporated into the design, with planting beds and pathways organized to complement their natural canopy structure.
Visual Balance
From the street, the composition achieves symmetry through asymmetric planting, balancing the architectural weight of the brick facade with soft, layered greenery.
Technical Drawings
The complete drawing set documents spatial organization, material specifications, planting placement, and lighting layout for precise implementation.
